Highcliffe Castle Wedding and Lord Bute Wedding Reception
I recently blogged about my brother’s Highcliffe Castle Wedding and Lord Bute Wedding Reception in Dorset and got slightly carried away with the amount of photos I was posting so had to create two blog posts, the first which showed photos from the wedding ceremony and the second which showed couple portraits at Highcliffe Beach after the ceremony. The main reason for posting so many photos earlier on is that we have family living in New Zealand who were unable to attend the wedding and I wanted them to see the photos so they didn’t feel as though they’d missed out completely. I’ve now finished editing the photos and am delighted to share with you a wider selection of photos from the day including bridal prep, details, dancing and more. Enjoy!
Kyley spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids at her mum’s house in Hampshire and enlisted the help of Melinda from Makeovers by Melinda for her bridal hair and make-up. Melinda did an amazing job as Kyley looked absolutely stunning all day – not that she doesn’t usually but you know what I mean.
Kyley’s beautiful bridal bouquet was created by the very talented Linda of Floral Enchantment, as were the bridesmaids bouquets, button holes, corsages and flower arrangements. I have come across Linda’s work before at Ricky and Louise’s Lainston House wedding and on both occasions, Linda’s floristry has been exquisite.
Since this was my brother’s wedding, I was a bridesmaid as well as photographer which meant I got to travel in style in a very comfortable Rolls Royce from Just Rolls Wedding Car Hire. I’m told on good authority that this particular car was also hired for Kate and William’s Royal Wedding as transport for some of the dignitaries.
The wedding ceremony room at Highcliffe Castle is simply stunning with it’s floor to ceiling windows and beautiful stone floor. The windows let in an incredible amount of light which helped to create some beautiful, light and airy images of the ceremony – you can see more images from the ceremony here. I also liked Glen and Kyley’s blue colour scheme and the blue sashes on the chairs. The blue colour scheme was elegant and sophisticated and the pale pink and cream flowers complemented this.
After the wedding ceremony, Glen and Kyley were chauffeured to Highcliffe Beach for some couple portraits and time to themselves away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding. During this time, guests were making their way to the wedding reception venue at the near by Lord Bute Hotel and Restaurant. While Glen and Kyley weren’t away from their guests for too long, it gave them a moment to take in the events that had just taken place and allowed them time to just be in the moment, enjoying each other’s company. They’re also thrilled with the photos captured of them at the beach which is a bonus. I love the photo below, as does my bother – I think it would look great made into a canvas and displayed on a wall in their home.
Whilst we were strolling along the seafront at Highcliffe, a lovely couple offered us the use of their beach hut…
Once reunited with their guests at the Lord Bute Hotel and Restaurant, Kyley’s work colleagues asked for a group photo with the beautiful bride – they didn’t take much convincing to strike their best Sex in the City pose and I think the results are fabulous! You all look stunning!
I don’t usually post photographs of myself, but since I was a bridesmaid at this wedding I’ll post one below. This is me (on the right) with my cousin Laura. I don’t usually have curly hair either but I kinda liked it! I should also point out that Laura was wearing high heels and at this point in the evening I’d left my heels under a table and was barefoot.
I hope you enjoyed these. As always, comments for the happy couple are always welcome.
